Terms and conditions

Last updated: 25 September 2026

These terms govern your use of SPF Pletter, the service of [nog in te vullen]. This is a translation of the Dutch original; if the two ever disagree, the Dutch version governs. Where these terms would cut into a consumer right the law gives you anyway, the law wins, not this text.

1.Definitions

  • We, us: [nog in te vullen], Chamber of Commerce number [nog in te vullen], established at [nog in te vullen].
  • You: whoever creates an account or uses the service.
  • The service: SPF Pletter, including the website, the scans, SPF flattening, the hosted DNS record and the API.
  • Consumer: someone using the service outside a trade or profession.
  • Subscription: a paid plan with a recurring payment.

2.What these terms apply to

These terms apply to every use of the service, paid or free, and to every agreement arising from it.

A business customer's own purchasing terms are rejected unless we agree otherwise in writing. If one provision turns out to be invalid, the rest stay in force.

3.What the service is, and is not

The service reads a domain's public DNS records and assesses them for SPF, DKIM and DMARC. It can also flatten an SPF record and, on a paid plan, host that flattened record and keep it current.

What the service explicitly is not:

  • Not a guarantee that your mail arrives. Delivery is decided by receiving parties we have no say over.
  • Not a security product that stops spoofing. We show you where your domain stands; the policy is applied at the receiver.
  • Not legal or tax advice.

We do our best to keep the assessment faithful to the relevant RFCs, but a verdict from the service is a tool, not a warranty.

4.Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password and API keys to yourself, and tell us if you suspect someone else has access.

You must give and confirm a working email address, and the details you provide must be accurate.

If you share an organisation, its owner can add and remove members and change the plan.

5.Subscription, prices and payment

A paid plan is a subscription that continues until it is cancelled. The price and the billing period are shown at checkout, before you confirm anything.

Amounts shown to consumers include VAT. Business customers see the VAT separately at checkout.

Payments run through Stripe. If a payment fails we may suspend the paid features until it is settled; your data stays where it is in the meantime.

We announce price changes at least 30 days in advance by email. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new price takes effect.

6.Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer you have fourteen days to change your mind after taking out a subscription. Within that period you can withdraw without giving a reason, and pay nothing.

A subscription gives you access immediately. That is why we ask at checkout for your express agreement to start straight away, and you confirm there that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully delivered. Without that agreement, access begins once the cooling-off period has passed.

To withdraw, tell us within the period at [nog in te vullen]. Any clear statement will do; you may also use the model withdrawal form. We confirm receipt and refund within fourteen days, using the same payment method.

Business customers do not have this right; the cancellation terms below apply to them.

7.What you may do with the service

Scan domains you administer, or have permission to check. The service reads only public DNS data, but that does not make scanning other people's domains at scale a courteous thing to do.

Not allowed:

  • Driving the public scans automatically past the published limits, or working around those limits.
  • Using the service to bother anyone else, for instance by pointing it at a third party as a source of traffic.
  • Attempting to reach accounts, data or systems that are not yours.
  • Reselling the service as your own product without an agreement with us.

If you find a vulnerability in our service, report it at [nog in te vullen]. Anyone who reports a security problem properly and gives us a chance to fix it has nothing to fear from us.

8.Availability and maintenance

We do our best to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and offer no service level agreement.

Maintenance that briefly takes the service offline is scheduled outside office hours where we can. Faults affecting your hosted DNS record get priority: that record is attached to your mail delivery.

We may change or discontinue features. Where that materially affects a paid plan we give at least 30 days' notice, and you may cancel with a refund of the unused part.

9.Liability

We are liable for damage caused by an attributable failure on our part, within the following limits.

For business customers our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the damage, and we are not liable for consequential loss such as lost profit, lost revenue or lost data.

For consumers those limits apply only as far as the law allows. In case of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part, no limitation applies to anyone.

We are not liable for damage arising because mail was not delivered, or was delivered when it should not have been: that decision rests with receiving parties. If you publish a record we flattened, you remain responsible for what is in your DNS.

10.Intellectual property

The service, the software and the text on the site are ours. You get a non-transferable right to use the service while your agreement runs, and nothing more.

The data you enter and the records generated for your domains remain yours. You may use them as you wish, including after cancelling.

11.Cancelling and ending

You can cancel at any time. On a monthly subscription access runs to the end of the current month; on an annual one, to the end of the year paid for. We do not refund the current term unless the cancellation follows a price change or a material change to the features.

We may end the agreement if you breach these terms, after a warning and a reasonable chance to put it right. In case of serious abuse we may close an account immediately.

After termination we delete your data as described in the privacy statement. Make sure your hosted record has been moved before you cancel: we stop publishing it, and that can affect your mail delivery.

12.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. A change that materially affects your position is announced at least 30 days in advance by email.

If you do not agree with the change you may cancel before it takes effect. If you carry on using the service afterwards, the new terms apply.

13.Governing law and disputes

Dutch law applies to these terms and to every agreement with us.

If we cannot resolve something together, the court in the district where we are established has jurisdiction. If you are a consumer you may also bring the dispute before the court where you live, and you have access to the European ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).

Tell us first at [nog in te vullen]. Most disputes are settled with an email.
